What are the steps to complete an OurFamilyWizard Fee Waiver application in the US?

Our Family Wizard offers Fee Waivers to help parents who qualify due to financial hardship access our co-parenting platform. Here's a step-by-step guide to applying for a fee waiver if you are located in the United States. 

 

Step 1: Enter Your Personal Information

You'll need to provide: 

  • Your name (first and last) 

  • Email address  

  • Phone number (with country code) 

  • Complete address (street, city, state/province, postal code) 

  • Time zone


Step 2: Add Co-Parent and Children Information

  • Co-parent details: Name, email, and phone number 

  • Children information: First name, last name, and email (if applicable) for each child 
     

Step 3: Choose Your Eligibility Reason

Select the option that best describes your situation: 

 

Option 1: Public Assistance (with Instant Verification). Accepted programs include: SNAP, TANF, TTANF, WIC, LIHEAP, SSI, Medicaid, or the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) 

"I currently receive SNAP, TANF, WIC, SSI, or Medicaid"

  • Benefit: Instant verification through SheerID - No documents needed! 

  • Process: You'll be directed to a secure SheerID verification form that instantly confirms your eligibility.
     

Option 2: Court-Ordered Indigence

"I have proof of in forma pauperis or indigence"

  • Documentation needed: Proof from the court dated within the past 12 months 

"I am receiving legal services pro bono or at a reduced rate"

  • Documentation needed: Signed letter from your attorney on their letterhead dated within the past 12 months 
     

Option 4: Domestic Violence Fee Waiver

"I have experienced domestic violence or intimate partner violence and am working with a qualified professional."

  • Documentation needed: Signed letter from your qualified professional (e.g., licensed mental health provider, attorney, judge, social worker, or domestic violence advocate/shelter) on their letterhead dated within the past 12 months


Step 4: Upload Supporting Documentation

(Skip this step if you used SheerID instant verification)

  • Accepted file types: PNG, JPG, JPEG, HEIC, or PDF 

  • File limit: One file per application 

  • What to include: The specific documentation required for your selected eligibility reason

Tips for Document Upload: 

  1. Ensure documents are clear and readable with your name clearly visible

  2. Make sure the dates are within the required timeframe 

  3. Include all relevant pages if your document spans multiple pages 
     

Step 5: Submit Your Application

  • Review your selected eligibility reason. You can edit this if needed.

  • Confirm your uploaded documentation 

  • Submit your fee waiver application

Your application will be reviewed by our team. You'll receive confirmation and updates via email. Processing times vary based on the type of documentation provided. Our team typically reviews applications and replies within 5 business days.

  • SheerID Option: If you receive SNAP, TANF, TTANF, WIC, LIHEAP, SSI, Medicaid, or the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), choose the instant verification option for the fastest processing. Processing is often instant or within 24 hours.

  • Document Quality: Ensure all uploaded documents are clear, complete, within the required date ranges, and display your first and last name.

  • One Application: You can only upload one supporting document, so make sure it contains all necessary information
