How do I set up email, text alerts, and push notifications?

If you want to stay on top of activity within your OurFamilyWizard account, enabling notifications is the best way to do so. Notifications are available via email, text message, and mobile app push notifications. 

 

Enabling Email and Text Notifications on the website

  1. In the main navigation menu, click your initials in the top right corner. Then, click My Account.
  2. Select Notifications from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
  3. In the Delivery Locations box, confirm that your email address and mobile phone number are correct. If you need to update your contact information, you can do so in the My Profile section. See: How do I update my account and contact information?

  4. Once you've confirmed that your contact information is correct, click Edit in the Alert and delivery options box to activate your notifications. 
    • Note: You must complete this form in order to start receiving alerts. Simply providing an email address and mobile phone number alone will not activate notifications.

  5. Alert and delivery options: Designate how and for which sections of your account you wish to receive notifications. 
    • On Action: Select this option if you wish to receive an alert immediately after an action takes place.
    • Daily Digest: Select this option if you wish to receive a once-daily, condensed alert that will detail every action that took place over the previous 24 hours. Daily Digest alerts are sent at 5:00 PM local time.
  6. After you have chosen your delivery options, click Save in the upper left corner. Once you have saved, your selections will be displayed on the Notifications page.

Sending a test notification

  1. Navigate to the Notifications section of the My Account tab.
  2. Verify that the contact information you provided is correct in the Delivery locations box. If the information needs to be updated, you can do so in the My Profile section of the My Account tab. See: How do I update my account and contact information?
  3. Use the 'Send test message' and 'Send test text' buttons to send a test notification to either your email or mobile phone. 

 

Enabling Email and Text Notifications on the mobile app

Staying on top of activity within OurFamilyWizard is easy with three different options for notifications: email, text, and push notifications.

Email and text notifications

In order to enable text notifications via the mobile app, you must have a mobile number already listed for your account. If you see an alert on the Notifications screen of the app saying that text alerts are disabled, click the View/Edit My Account link to sign into the website and update your contact info.   1. From the app's main navigation menu, select the more icon (the three dots).
  2. Next, tap Notifications.
  3. In the Current Settings section, tap Edit.
  4. Designate how and for which sections of your account you wish to receive notifications.
    • On Action: Select this option if you wish to receive an alert immediately after an action takes place.
    • Daily Digest: Select this option if you wish to receive a once-daily, condensed alert that will detail every action that took place over the previous 24 hours. Daily Digest alerts are sent at 5:00 PM local time.
  5. Tap Save in the top right corner of the screens to save your settings.

Push notifications will alert you of new activity being posted by your co-parent or other family members on OurFamilyWizard. When you first download the app, you will be prompted to allow OurFamilyWizard to send you notifications. Approve this option in order to begin receiving these alerts.

If you did not allow push alerts at download, follow these instructions to enable them at a later point.

  1. From the app's main navigation menu, select the more icon (the three dots).
  2. Next, tap Notifications.
  3. In the box titled Push Notifications, tap Enable device notification settings
  4. Select "Allow" when the following dialog appears

When you first download the app, you will be prompted to allow OurFamilyWizard to send you notifications. Approve this option in order to begin receiving these alerts.

If you did not allow push notifications upon download, do the following to enable them.

  1. From the app's main navigation menu, select the more icon (the three dots).
  2. Next, tap Notifications.
    • Note: You must manage your push notifications through your phone's settings, not the notifications section of the OurFamilyWizard app.
  3. Once there, tap on Applications and Notifications and locate the OurFamilyWizard app in the list of apps on your device.
  4. Once you are viewing the settings for the OurFamilyWizard app, click on the App Notifications section.
  5. On the app notifications screen, toggle the notifications from Off to On.
