How do I connect an outside calendar to OurFamilyWizard?

Keep everyone on the same page with Calendar Subscriptions. Import external calendars like Google, Apple Calendar (iCal), Outlook, and more directly into OurFamilyWizard. Subscribed calendars update automatically, can remain private or be shared with your co-parent, and won’t interfere with your parenting schedule or custody rotation.
 

You can connect many different external calendar URLs to your OurFamilyWizard Calendar by following the directions below. Common calendar URLs include:

• Google Calendar
  • Tip! The Secret Address lets you view your calendar in other applications, like Outlook, Apple Calendar, and OurFamilyWizard.
• Yahoo Calendar
  • Tip! Ensure you use the link specifically labeled ICS for syncing, not HTML, which is for browser viewing.
• Outlook Calendar
  • Tip! To share an Outlook calendar via an ICS link for use in other applications (like Google Calendar or Apple Calendar), you must publish the calendar in Outlook on the web to generate a public ICS link. This allows others to subscribe to your calendar and receive automatic updates.
• Apple iCloud Calendar
  • Tip! To share an .ics link from Apple Calendar, make the calendar public via iCloud settings to generate a shareable link
• Cozi Calendar
• Playmetrics Calendar
  • Tip! By selecting the Sync Calendar button, you can subscribe to individual player calendars.

1. To connect a calendar, begin by logging into your OurFamilyWizard account.
2. Click or Tap Calendar along the top navigation bar (web) or the bottom navigation bar (mobile)
3. Select Calendar Subscriptions from the menu along the left side of the screen. If you're using the mobile app, tap the menu icon (three lines) then tap "Calendar Subscriptions."
   
    
4. Enter a calendar name, paste the URL for the calendar you'd like to add, select an option to make your calendar private or shared with your co-parent, and then and assign a color for the calendar. Then, click Subscribe. The subscribed calendar will display alongside your OurFamilyWizard calendar with events appearing in the color you selected.
   • When you add a Subscribed Calendar, you can choose to share it or keep it private. Select "Shared" from the dialog box to share your subscribed calendar, and its events, with your co-parent. Select "Private" to keep your Subscribed Calendar private to you.
     
     
      
5. Filter your OurFamilyWizard calendar to hide or display your Subscribed Calendars. Click the "Filter" button near the top of the screen. Then, select or deselects the Subscribed Calendars. Then, click Apply.
   
   
6. Click Calendars Subscriptions again to Add or Remove external calendars.
   • Click the Three Dots next to a Subscribed Calendar to Edit, View Details, or Unsubscribe.
   • Click the + New button to add another external calendar.
   • Click Unsubscribe to unsubscribe from the calendar and to remove the events from your OurFamilyWizard calendar. Please note: Subscribed Calendars will show a history, including when the Calendar was added and when a co-parent unsubscribed. The history cannot be deleted or altered.

Note: OurFamilyWizard will refresh Connected Calendar URLs hourly. Any changes you make to your external calendars that are connected within OurFamilyWizard should show up within an hour.

Can my coparent see my Subscribed Calendar?

When you add a Subscribed Calendar, you can choose to share it or keep it private. Select "Shared" from the dialog box to share your subscribed calendar, and its events, with your co-parent. Select "Private" to keep your Subscribed Calendar private to you.

Can I share my Connected Calendar with my coparent?

Yes. Select "Shared" from the dialog box to share your subscribed calendar, and its events, with your co-parent. Subscribed Calendars will show a history, including when the Calendar was added and when a co-parent unsubscribed. The history cannot be deleted or altered.

How do I find the .ics Calendar URL?

To locate the URL of a calendar you would like to add to Subscribed Calendars in OurFamilyWizard, contact the support team for the calendar app or product you'd like to add. Often, the calendar's support team or their help center resources can provide instructions for locating the calendar URL.
