Whether you’re drafting a new message or replying to an existing one, Writing Assistant can suggest improvements to tone, grammar, and clarity while helping you keep communication focused on co-parenting. Depending on your situation, you can pick a considerate, casual, neutral, direct, or professional tone.
Before you begin
Writing Assistant is available with eligible subscriptions. If you don’t see the Writing Assistant option while composing a message, it may not be included with your current subscription. How to use Writing Assistant
- Open Messages in your OurFamilyWizard account on the website or mobile app.
- Start a new message or reply to an existing conversation.

Type your message in the message editor. ToneMeter will automatically review your message, highlighting sentences and phrases to review in red. Click the ToneMeter button to review flagged sentences and phrases in more detail.
- Select the Writing Assistant button to review suggested rewrites.
- Review the suggested changes.
- Choose whether to:
- Modify Tone to select Considerate, Casual, Neutral, Direct, or Professional.
- Apply to Draft to update your original message.
- Regenerate to load additional Writing Assistant Suggestions.
- Edit your message by typing in the original Message draft on the left side of the screen.
- View Original Draft to toggle between your original message and the Writing Assistant suggestion.
- When you’re satisfied with your message, select Apply to Draft. Your message will be updated to include your changes.

No. OurFamilyWizard does not provide a report showing a co-parent’s Writing Assistant usage. There is no log or record indicating whether Writing Assistant was used to draft or revise a message. Only the final version of a message that is sent through the platform is retained as part of the communication record.
